Yesterday, was a day of pure agony. I was planning to shop for yarn, lots of it! I was going to go to
Yarn Connection, my regular small yarn shop in Midtown. Jenna told me to check out
Suss Designs which just opened up. She said I could always hit
Purl SoHo after, if I couldn't find what I wanted. So I trekked out to Suss, and I found out they were closed. There was a large "for lease" sign in the window and the room had no furniture. So if you want to check out Suss, it looks like they cleared out. I then walked down to Purl (which felt like it took forever, because I started getting hot). They had beautiful yarn. I was drawn to these incredible mauve colors, but it wasn't the yarn I was looking for. Buying a tart and drink from
Once Upon a Tart (next door) made me feel slightly better. It was basically a lost day, and I didn't think it could get worst... Until I broke out into hives. I hadn't had so many hives for a long time. It felt like I was being eaten alive by ants from the inside out. I felt guilty that I was keeping hubby up with my constant itching. I was trying to doze off, but then I remembered my friend's story about a really bad allergic reaction. His face swelled up and he was rushed to the emergency room. The doctor said if he got there a few minutes later, he would be dead. And I kept imagining my face swelling up (yes, I am a bit of a hypochondriac). I feel slightly better today (still itchy). I can't pinpoint what I ate or did to bring this plague on.
On a much happier note, we had a full weekend. On Saturday, I went to
Rosalynn's bridal shower hosted by Samantha. It was a lot of fun and it felt really intimate. Then we went to Ashot's birthday drinks on their Battery Park City rooftop. The views were amazing. Happy 29+ 1 birthday, Ashot! On Sunday, we drove to Connecticut for Jeff's wedding. I have never been to a Jordanian wedding before it was quite a treat. Some highlights (there were SO many): the couple were led into the reception with a dancing man & 2 belly dancers with lit candlelabras on their heads, close family members threw dollar bills while the couple danced, and the Venetian dessert buffet was a spectacle of sparklers that was assembled on the dance floor.
