We watched Raiders of the Lost Ark (one of my favorite movies) at Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park yesterday. We were very lucky with the weather, it had rained out their last 3 showings. Yesterday night, was perfect: clear, not humid, not hot. I couldn't get over how gorgeous the view was and couldn't stop from looking over at it, instead of the movie from time to time. It was just a perfect night.
There are movie events at Empire-Fulton State Park (in DUMBO) every summer, visit their site for more info. Or if you prefer to sit in Bryant Park (Midtown), visit their site for their summer movie info. If you do go to these events, remember to bring an old sheet/blanket to sit on and arrive very early. It gets packed, really fast.
