Longan (dragon's eyes) always makes me think of summer. I prefer longan over lychee, probably because longan is sweeter. Plus, I always get nosebleeds when I eat too many lychees. I, being the frugal (alright, cheap) person I am, didn't want to buy longan when I saw it in Chinatown this weekend. But hubby knew I like the fruit, so we bought it at $8 a pound (grumble). The batch we bought was really sweet. He brought some to work and I'm happily munching on small batches from the fridge.

And here is an update on my Marianne short cardigan (I have to mentally remind myself not to call it the Melissa cardigan). As you can see, it is forming a fancy diamond pattern. This is the bottom of the back. I think it looks real ethereal and it feels SO SOFT. It's being knit in Rowan Kidsilk Haze in "Caramel". This yarn is very, very slippery and gets tangled easily. I have had to frog 3 times already, and it really sucked. I worry that it may be too small for me.
