O' Christmas Tree, O' Christmas Tree...

Lincon Center
On Monday, we were invited by hubby's boss' boss to see the tree lighting at Lincoln Center. We were in Avery Fisher Hall's balcony. There were 3 shows on top of the balconies of the 3 buildings. I thought the coolest one was a scene from the Nutcracker. That ballet is still one of my favorites and I think of the dance of the sugar plum fairies every Christmas. It was really cool to meet hubby's coworkers and watch the tree light up, from the second story, away from the large crowd downstairs.

Rockettes Picture from the Radio City Music Hall Site

My cousin Pam invited my family to watch the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, featuring the Rockettes. It was surprisingly entertaining. The 3-D movie was not as corny as I thought it would be. My favorite part was the toy soldier bit. There was a lot of skill and coordination involved. If you see the show, you know what I'm talking about. I thought the Santa narration was extremely annoying, but then again, I'm not the target audience (8 year old kids). Afterwards, we went to look at the tree at Rockerfeller Center. It was gorgeous. I was suddenly reminded of being 8 myself and seeing the huge tree loom up into a starry sky.
