Happy 2007!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. My holiday was filled with lots of food and family, what more can one ask for. And many wonderful unexpected presents. Thank you, thank you! We celebrated new years with hot pot, which has become a tradition. If you never had hot pot before, basically you cook raw foods in a shared pot filled with broth and everyone picks out what they like to eat. It is a lot of fun, and it makes you feel closer to everyone at the table.
I have a lot to be thankful for and so many things are different this year. I now have a new last name. If you had asked me 10 years ago, I probably would have kept my maiden name. But it doesn't make me feel less of a feminist to have changed it. Keeping my father's last name doesn't really break the patriarchal system. I have a new job. It has been quite challenging to adjust to a new industry, corporate culture, and a new set of tools, but it's been exciting too.
With all this change, I wonder what is next? What are my goals for this year? I don't know yet, but here are some ideas: Go to the gym regularly. I fell off the gym wagon when I started my new job. Cook more, I have been cooking less since I started working. It's very unhealthy, I have to start up again. Hmm...all the obstacles seem to point to my job.
And continue knitting, of course! I can't stop, it's my obsession. Here is the Make Make Orange House Kit I ordered for myself. Merry Christmas to me! I had to order it twice, I goofed up and wrote the wrong address the first time and the order disappeared. I blame it on Christmas shopping madness. It's a small, crochet purse set with Japanese instructions. I ordered it from superbuzzy.com. It is an e-store co-owned by one of the knitting blog I regularly
